Coupon Policy

I emailed Earth Fare to learn about their coupon policy, and here is the information that I received.

Earth Fare does not double manufacturer coupons.

They’ll accept one coupon per item, no matter what type of coupon it is.   (Some grocery stores accept one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per item, but that’s not the case here.)

There is no limit as to how many coupons can be used in a transaction, as long as you only have one coupon per item.

They do not accept expired coupons.

I also asked about their policy for BOGO coupons.  Here is the question I asked, and the answer I received.
Q: “If I have a manufacturer coupon that states “buy one get one free”, can I use another manufacturer coupon for “a dollar amount off one” on the item I am not getting free?

A: “The B1G1 coupon would actually apply to the purchased item, not the free item, so no; you could not use two coupons for this transaction.”

Now, those of us who have been couponing for a while know that this is not typically how coupons work, and people who say this about bogo coupons probably don’t know any better.  I would say YMMV (your mileage may vary) when it comes to these.  If you have any experience with a scenario like this at Earth Fare, please let us know.

Update (as of 8/10/10):

-Currently Earth Fare has no intentions to double manufacturer coupons.

-When it comes to store coupons that state that you get a free item with $5 purchase, your total must be $5 before tax and coupons. That’s the official word from HQ.  I’ve experienced differently in stores in the past, so I’m going to say that YMMV when it comes to this, but at least now we have some clarification from the corporate office.
